Students will travel one of the old pilgrimages that for over 1000 years people have used. The Kumano Kodo trail provides a delightful excursion through scenic countryside. Along the way students will have some fascinating insights into the world of Japan, the samurai urban and village life today. They will travel through rural Japan along some of the most enjoyable and best-preserved parts of the old pilgrimages in Japan’s mountainous central region. Students will stay in atmospheric and beautiful inns, taste a variety of Japanese dishes and experience the traditional Japanese way of life including sleeping on futons, bathing in wooden baths and eating while sitting on tatami mat floors.

Please click here for more information Students must bring a packed lunch for Tuesday. All other meals will be provided at the restaurant in each location. Its recommended to bring money for snacks and drinks. ¥4,000 Students will travel to the beginning of the walk and pick up at the end of the walk by charter bus.
